Things for Bride and Groom to prepare for legal registration:
1. Their passports
2. Certifying letter or document from their embassy indicating their wish to get married in Thailand with their personal details such as their names and address, nationality, parents’ names and nationality.
3. The letter must be translated to Thai Language and certified by The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Bangkok.
4. Divorce certificate from previously marriage (if applicable)
5. Death certificate from previously marriage (if applicable)
THAI WEDDING CEREMONY
Ceremonial Process
09.00 am - Engagement in the function room.
- All guests in room and seating (parents, relatives VIPs and friends) Sofa set for parents, VIPs and/or senior relatives.
- Coffee and tea with light snacks available.
09.30 am - Holy water pouring & bonding ceremony.
- Bride & Groom seated at the wedding set-up.
- MC invites either VIP or parents to bond the wedding couple together by the two rings of cotton rope over their heads. Then, pour the holy water over their hands.
- All well – wishers in seniority order extend the holy water to the Bride & Groom while they are bonded.
10.30 am - Buddhist praying ceremony.
- 9 Buddhist monks pray for marriage of the couple and offerings are given.
11.30 am - The wedding couple invites guests for lunch.
